On July 31, the reporter learned that Shenzhen Branch of the Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as Shenzhen Branch) has successfully completed the first online replacement of FPSO mooring system in China under the condition that FPSO is not released and the oil field is not shut down.

In the early morning of July 13, as the divers fastened the connector to the last anchor chain 105 meters underwater, the underwater mooring system composed of three groups of 9 mooring legs firmly "tied" the 150000 ton "offshore oil 111" FPSO (floating production, storage and unloading device) to the sea surface.

The "offshore oil 111" inner turret single point mooring system serving in Panyu oilfield has reached the design life of 10 years, and various components of the system have been corroded and worn to varying degrees. CNOOC adopted the new mooring system independently designed and manufactured for the first time, successfully implemented the "transplant operation", and broke the technical barriers of foreign companies. The new mooring system is designed according to the new safety standards and can be used for 20 years after transformation, breaking a major bottleneck in the subsequent rolling development of Panyu oilfield.

During the replacement of "offshore oil 111" mooring system, oilfield production, surface oil extraction and underwater construction are carried out at the same time. After scheme optimization, the replacement period of each mooring leg was shortened from the initial 8 days to 4 days. At the same time, Shenzhen Branch seized the best climate window this year, and the offshore construction was completed one month ahead of schedule. According to Chen Jiejun, general manager of Panyu operation company, Panyu oilfield has maintained high and stable production by adopting the online replacement scheme, which can avoid the production loss of nearly 8 million barrels of crude oil.

Since 2006, Shenzhen Branch has cooperated with relevant domestic research institutions and manufacturers to tackle key technical problems, independently maintained and transformed seven sets of single point mooring systems in the eastern waters of the South China Sea, and gradually mastered the core technology of single point mooring system. The mooring system has achieved a leap from foreign general contracting to domestic design and manufacturing, which provides a new guarantee for China's offshore engineering to enter deep water independently.
